April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month

It’s a reminder that the fight for respect, equality, and safety in the workplace is far from over.

As a woman in logistics, I’ve experienced my share of inappropriate comments and suggestions — moments that were brushed off as “jokes” or “harmless,” but that leave lasting impressions. In a male-dominated industry, it’s still far too common for women to be seen as “the typing girl” or just a secretary — and not even given the respect of being called an Administrative Assistant, let alone seen as a leader.

We are more than stereotypes. We are professionals. We are planners, coordinators, analysts, and executives. We are resilient — but we shouldn’t have to be resilient just to exist in our workplaces.

To the women breaking barriers in logistics and beyond: I see you. I stand with you. And I believe that change starts with voices like ours — refusing to be silent, and making space for the next generation to thrive with dignity and respect.
