Mel "Chum" Martinez
Where do I begin with you Sir? Do I talk about the first time I met you? do I talk about the umpteenth time I met you? Or do I talk about the last time I saw you? I guess anywhere in between would work...
You were a hustler, had swagger, was quiet, yet you saw everything and then some. One of the few who never CALLED me out for being crazy, you called a few others DOWN for being crazy... and pulled em back when they got a bit to wild for you liking around me. Which made me giggle in the beginning.. One of 5 men who EVER told me to "GET DOWN OFF THAT BAR" I won't name the others, oh hell yes I will.. Keith, Mike (maddog) cause the other one was always helping me up) Thurman, and Robert.. who also was normally helping me up on the bar? Oh well.. You would tell me if I didn't rush the shot I could make it.. I frustrated every one of you at least 2x a week.. None of you understood or got how 9-Ball was my game and 8-Ball I hated..
I was bar wench from the 1st moment... Score keeper from the second.. money holder for the occasionally ring games happening on table 1 or 5...
You never encouraged the pickle trick.. but you never stopped me either.... hee hee..
I guess when the door closes, or you think apart of you life is over.. you never want to look back, and then sitting at work I hear "Gina" I am like CHUM? your like yes.. so for the next 3 years every wed I would get to see you.. hug you.. catch up....
and then you told me... You held me while I cried? WTH, but that's how you were.. I can't imagine, not being able to call you.. to tell you everything and have you reiterate that it's OK to let go.. or that this time, it's ok to HOLD ON..
I just want you to know, that I remember everything.. and always will.. Love you.. Miss you... Sleep Sweet..
