Depend on 3 Things

2. Discipline- 1 Timothy 4:7
3. Doing what God says- James 1:22

Is there a right time for devotion? NO (anytime is a right time)
Morning Psalm 5:3
Evening: Psalm 119:55-67, 148
Short Spurts: Psalm 55:17/ Daniel 6:10

remember that it's about when YOU concentrate at your best!

Silence...... When you hear that, or feel it, or someone just says Silence... What conjurs in your mind.. Do you start to panic? Or doe you begin to write lists of chores that need to be done?

Can we really be in SILENCE and just BE in that moment?

Does it make you uncomfortable, well there are times when I freak out if I don't have noise in the back ground? Peronally it's because there are times I'm afraid to be alone, for FEAR of having to acknowledge that I haven't been the best Christian.. Guilt seeps in over stuff...Worry begins to nah at me..

Why is Silence so bad? I mean how can devotion time with the Lord be meaningful if there is chaos in the background? I have heard it from various writers, that there are 3 reasons we (OK ME) need noise, static, chaos:

1. Focus our attentions to everything else, but our inside..
2. False sense of control of our surroundings
3. Shuts our God's voice/spirit.

if we continually need noise, and can not find comfort in the silence, are we really taking the time to be with our Heavenly Father?

My goal for 2011, is to find a quiet place and stay with in the Psalms, that's where I am starting... to SIT with him, feel them, pour out my own Psalm to him.. Stay there until I've "heard from God"

remember to BE Still. Habakkuk 2:20

When devotions seem to be in a rut.... most times it's due to our "devotion less devotions" Going through the motions.. Psalm 42:1/Mark 4:19

How has your time with God been? Answer the following honestly:

A. non-existent
B. look forward to, get great feelings
C. blah
D. Habit and just doing it because

If you answered anything other than B, it's time to get that DEVOTION time back..

Remember when spending time with God:

go blank,
think on him and your own spiritual state,
day dream you are walking with him,
feel the spirit conversing w/him....

Small Changes can help Mark 1:35

PS I miss you every day, my heart and soul is with you... never doubt that the miles may separate us, but I am WITH you
